4.5 - Action plan on setting up an Aquaculture & Fisheries Student Association
Shortly after the proposal for this initiative, an independent Student Association in the sector has been set-up, supported by the European Aquaculture Society (EAS), which made the AQUA-TNET initiative as it was planned unnecessary. Founded in May 2005 in Norway, the European Aquaculture Society - Student Group (EAS-SG) is currently developing into one of the major aquacultural student organizations. AQUA-TNET has invited the EAS-SG from the start of its existence to all AQUA-TNET meetings and events and they are actively involved in all AQUA-TNET activities. The coordinator of the EAS-student group has been identified as contact person for AQUA-TNET, providing direct connection with student stakeholders. During the AQUALABS workshop in Galway (Ireland) in November 2006, the EAS-SG was introduced to and discussed with aquaculture and fisheries students from all over the world. The report outcome can be found here.

This is devoted to be included in the records of the student and also to the particular CV of the mover for further placements in research, academia or industrial jobs. A protocol was issued based on the work by the AQUA-TNET WP4 group and experiences from different universities inside and outside the network. As the members of WP4 realised that existing protocols are mostly from academic records, some details concerning vocational movers are added. Please CLICK HERE for the protocol of recognition.
