Aquaculture, Fisheries and Aquatic Resource Management Thematic Network in Education & Training

AQUATNET Services 

 
The network is serviced by AquaTT, the European network for training and technology transfer in aquaculture and related sectors. This service platform includes this AQUA-TNET Education portal, and the AQUA-TNET newsletter, alongside the established Training News and PISCES TT Jobs. Also an AQUALAB student/early-stage researcher workshop has been organized.

1)                TRAINING NEWS
Training News is a free monthly electronic newsletter. With the latest news from the European education community, opportunities for collaboration, announcements and a student corner, Training News is an important dissemination channel for education and training opportunities for the aquaculture and fisheries sectors.

Please email news@aquatt.ie to submit your news which will reach more than 4,000 subscribers interested in aquaculture education.
 

2)                PISCESTT JOBS
www.piscesttjobs.com, is a free recruitment service which helps employers and employees explore possibilities and find opportunities tailored to human resource requirements and individual preferences. Those seeking employment have the opportunity to upload their professional profile and CV (currently over 1000). For employers, vacancies can be posted as and when they become available, with the option of keeping the contact details private to avoid unsolicited calls. To date, about 200 organisations worldwide have used the site to post vacancies.

We strongly encourage AQUA-TNET partners to advertise their course vacancies, PhD positions and any other placements you have available.  Also, please feel free to make students aware of the service. To get started, simply logon to the site and complete an online registration form.

3)                AQUALABS
AquaTT organised an AQUALAB student/early-stage researcher workshop for 60 participants, in Ireland, 2-4th November 2006. This was an exciting event and an opportunity for students from different institutes and companies across Europe to meet, exchange experiences and learn new skills. The target audience were “Early-stage researchers”, defined as researchers in the first 4 years (fulltime equivalent) of their research activity, including the period of research training. The AQUALAB student conference was held at the new Marine Institute headquarters, County Galway, Ireland. The event is funded by the European Union Marie Curie program. Bib-Mail is a biweekly updated overview of the content tables of the major aquaculture-relevant scientific journals. This service is restricted to AQUA-TNET partners only. CLICK here to go to BibMail.

Information of Interest is a biweekly updated overview of interesting publications, reports, and manuals relating to aquaculture in a broad sense, with links to the respective files or information points.
